“Music is like breathing"
Can’t imagine life without it.
Roxanne Bea started singing as a toddler. Grandpa noticed I could imitate and belt out songs on car rides. Has me singing at the barbershop for tips. Started vocal training at 6 years old till 10 years old. Performed at cultural events, sang for school games, did some musicals. In my teens I began song writing and lending verses and vocal samples to other artists and producers.
Matthew Galardi is the bassist of 'Snake River Groove'. Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, he started his musical journey with the guitar at 20. He then took a break and picked up the guitar again at 31. According to him, “I played the guitar for the wrong reasons. I only wanted to play it to be recognized, to be loved and respected”.
In the Fall of 2016, he moved from the Bay Area to Boise, Idaho for a fresh start on life and eventually found a home in the band “Chronology”. He played rhythm guitar for a few years until the bassist left the band and went through a cycle of bass playing potentials. It was at this time that Matthew, whom at the time was fostering a curiosity to the bass guitar volunteered to switch to that instrument “to keep the momentum going”. From that point forward and to this day he plays the bass guitar as his principal instrument and had played at places like TK’s, Big Mic’s, Hill Road Gardens, Whiskey River, Ironwood only to name a few.
Since then, he has lent his musical talents to such bands as: “Alternate Wednesdays”, "Cabeza", “X Degenerates”, “Lauren and The Nostalgics”, and "Highway45", "The Mike Johnston Band", and "WickID Garden"
Jeff Hastings started drumming in his Junior High Band until his music teacher threw a music stand at him. So,
he joined a Rock-N-Roll outfit and never looked back. Honing his craft on a Ludwig double bass kit, Jeff played
in 101 Buckeye roadhouses without too many scars while completing bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business.
Next stop in Jeff’s musical career was San Francisco. He found considerable success recording and performing
live in The City. Big stages and large audiences beckoned. Jeff opened for several national acts as varied as Cher and The Tubes. Those jobs had him playing in prestigious venues like The Concord Pavilion, The Great American Music Hall, and SLIM’S (Boz Skaggs’ joint).
Jeff’s favorite T-Shirt displays…”I’m The Drummer Your Mother Warned You About”. Drawn to Idaho for its happening music scene and fabulous lifestyle, Jeff was working as a “Hired Gun” here before hooking up with the crew that is now the SNAKE RIVER GROOVE.
Asked how he liked Idaho, Jeff replies “I wasn’t born here, but I came as fast as I could.”
